The Children’s Center of
Knoxville, Inc. provides available services to all children
regardless of race, religion, ethnicity, financial background,
or family life. Special needs children are accepted based
on the availability of necessary provisions. Children are
accepted from the age of six-weeks to kindergarten eligibility.
Income sensitive classroom spots are available to families
with need of financial assistance

Our
facility serves meals and snacks that are partially funded
by and approved by the Tennessee State Child and Adult Care
Food Program (CACFP). The Tennessee Department of Human Services
(DHS) also approves our meals. Three nutritious daily meals
are offered to the children at The Children's Center of Knoxville,
Inc. (hot breakfast, hot lunch, and an afternoon snack). Children
who eat all of these meals while attending school receive
2/3 of the daily nutrition recommended to them by the United
States Department of Agriculture (USDA). These meals are included
in the price of weekly tuition and offered at no additional
charge to parents.

Parents
of Children enrolled in the facility are continually kept
informed of the status of their child’s health. Children’s
Center staff notifies parents of children requiring medical
attention or a physician’s evaluation. Children needing
immediate medical attention are transported to the hospital
of the parent’s choice, either by the parents or an
ambulance. Emergency number 911 will be used if the Children’s
Center staff determines that such action is necessary. The
Children’s Center of Knoxville, Inc. is conveniently
located near many of Knoxville’s major hospital facilities,
including Children’s Hospital. Current emergency information
is kept on file in the administrative office. |

Admission
to The Children's Center of Knoxville, Inc. is on a
first-come, first-serve basis, dependent upon availability.
A waiting list is maintained in the administrative office
at all times. In order to add a child’s name to
the waiting list, a small application is filled out
and returned. To receive an application, a parent may
call the center or stop by for a facility tour. |
